Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

So, I am sitting here on this fine Sunday afternoon 2 weeks away from Daytona 500 trying to figure out when the pussyfication of Nascar happened and what made me lose interest in the series.

This should sum up everything that is wrong with today's Nascar...

Nascar - give us back rubbing is racing

Nascar - stop throwing unnecessary cautions

Nascar - stop fining drivers unnecessarily

Nascar - get rid of the chase

Nascar - get rid of the free pass

Nascar - get rid of the green white checker

Nascar - give us back ESPN

Nascar - let the racers race and the best team win

Have some Days of Thunder action for your time.

I agree on the chase sentiment, the rest are debatable.

I do like the green white checkered finishes and I actually like the new chase format. But I would never want ESPN to do NASCAR again. Once they took over part of the schedule in 2007, there coverage was some of the worst I have ever seen.

Nascar start making left turns.

Nascar, stop buying other Motorsports to ruin them because your horrible, boring, tactless, skillless, turd of a motorsport is failing. Give up. It's terrible, it's shitty and it's horribly boring.

I suggest you re-evaluated, re-educate yourself on automobiles, racing, physics, sportsmanship, non boring tv.

:))))))

I do appreciate the Days of Thunder shoutout (japanese inspection!)

But all of that rubbing and laps get expensive. And you need people and sponsors to pay for all of that repair of race cars and preparation for laps. I do agree that the "race strategy" has taken too much of a share over what the racing used to be. Hopefully they can add more road courses or something. Or bring back the figure 8 oval.

I think if they actually used stock cars off the showroom. With safety equipment obviously. It would be more entertaining. Id rather watch those race around at 120mph, than the current stuff at 200.

I wish I could give you more stars.

I have been saying the for a while, all the cars should be the same as they their production counterparts. Just add all the safety stuff, spoilers and front splitters. I doubt it would happen though. I don't think NASCAR has the pull to get the manufacturers to build a car just for NASCAR.

They would all have to have a RWD platform to work from, Chevy would be fine because of the SS. But, Toyota and Ford would be F'ed. Although, it would be funny hearing all the Ford and Toyota drivers saying "it's understeering" when asked how their car is handling.

They did do that, and you get Jalopnik and associated complaining about all the drama and WWF acting

Thanks man haha.

It would create more incentive for OEs to produce these type of cars. Chevy has the SS, Dodge the Charger, maybe then Ford would bring in the Falcon from down under.

Some good points in the replies to this post.

My take?

We need more drivers that aren't afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing on the track. Just imagine a NASCAR today with a couple of Dale Earnhardts and some Tim Richmonds and for fun maybe a Jimmie Spencer or two.

I used to watch a shitload of NASCAR when ESPN did most of the races.
